Alumichem has developed an advanced oxidation technology that safely and effectively disinfects and removes contaminants from wastewater.

Our aquatic environment is under pressure. It is exposed to more and more contaminants, which occur in unnaturally high concentrations and represent an ever-increasing risk of pollution.

In Denmark, there is a great deal of focus on this pollution, and as a natural consequence, the regulations for wastewater treatment have been tightened. Therefore, it is crucial that wastewater treatment is optimised and streamlined.

Alumichem has continued to work on this and has introduced Alumichem Intense Oxidation® to the market, which is a completely new bubble technology for water purification of particularly high quality.

The benefits of choosing this technology are quite clear:

Intense oxidation

– Innovative bubble technology

Alumichem Intense Oxidation® is a purification method based on a unique technology, which uses an oxidising gas to decompose the substances. It is an Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP) system whereby organic pollutants become oxidised and thus harmless.

The oxidising gas is injected into the wastewater as ultrafine nanobubbles, and when it meets contaminants, an effective decomposition process begins. The gas breaks down existing molecular structures, and the small bubbles attach to particles of contaminants in the wastewater. These particles are then carried to the surface and form a slurry layer that is skimmed off.

In this way, technology is able to remove contaminants in wastewater with incredibly high efficiency. Testing of the system shows particularly good results in the reduction of PAHs, phenols, pesticides and similar components.

This non-chemical purification technology can also use air (or any gas) to separate solids from the water, and results show that the total suspended solids are reduced by more than 99%.

Wastewater treatment with unprecedented efficiency

Wastewater treatment with unprecedented efficiency
Today, Alumichem’ bubble technology is used in the part of the water purification process where the sludge is separated from the water. When the oxidising gas is combined with a flotation system, an unprecedented efficiency is achieved.

In the flotation system, the liquid is separated into a sludge phase containing the unwanted contaminants and a “clean-water” phase by means of flotation.

The advantages of using Alumichems’ flotation during wastewater treatment are many:

Alumichem can combine the flotation system with a sludge drainage solution, so that the sludge volume is minimised.

The bubble technology will set new standards

Alumichem’ Intense Oxidation Flotation (IOF) will set new standards in the following areas:
