Company history

Alumichem was founded to address the future of water treatment requirements, through development, innovation, and specialization.

2011

Alumichem was founded in 2011 under the name Copenhagen Chemicals ApS (Later became Norlex Group) by two entrepreneurial engineers: Christian Kemp and Jens Husted Kjær. Since then, the company has grown organically and through acquisitions.

2016

Acquisition of Bo Jensen Vandbehandling (founded in 1985) and Canadian-based Waterhouse. Waterhouse is a Vancouver-based company, which is a market leader in the supply of flocculants and coagulants to municipalities and industries in Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, and Alaska.

Start of Norlex Systems. Specialized in technology and customized water and wastewater treatment system solutions.        

2017

Acquisition of Nordisk Aluminat, a leading Nordic producer of functional aluminates and specialty chemicals used in water treatment processes.

2019

A new chemical factory is constructed. Nordisk Aluminat changes its name to Alumichem.

2020

Start of new central European division, specialized in Water treatment for automotive and industrial paint systems. 

2021

Norlex Group consolidates and continue under the name Alumichem.
